Jessica Karle Heltzel | I admire the story telling in Jessica Karle Helzel Over Nine Days Chess, Beer, and Guns project created in collaboration with Aura Seltzer. The simplicity of the layout, the well treated type and touches of well treated icons and visuals leave room for the story to unfold. Jessica Karle Heltzel is a designer and writer based Baltimore . She is studing towards and MFA in graphic design at the Maryland Institute College of Art.

Classmate Aura Seltzer and I entered three arenas in which we considered ourselves novices: chess, beer, and guns. Through the chaotic process, we studied pop culture references in movies, attended tournaments and competitions, and visited facilities and shows. We engaged with Grandmasters, brewmasters, rangemasters, and others far more experienced than us in the extended Baltimore area.
